2nd Annual Perennials Exchange


Craighead House hosts its second annual Perennials Exchange on Saturday, April 23 at 1:30 pm. Bring from one to five plants and receive a ticket for each one. Ticket drawing begins at 2:00 pm. The holder of each drawn ticket gets to select the plant of his or her choice until all the plants have been exchanged. Everyone leaves with as many plants as they brought.

FREE and open to the public

PHMC Approves Historical Marker for Craighead House

The Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission (PHMC) has approved a blue and yellow roadside marker honoring the Craighead Family Naturalists. The sign will be placed at Craighead House along Old York Rd between Boiling Springs and Route 34. Shirley Wright, who drives past Craighead House every day, became interested in the project when she saw the annual campaign signs posted in front of the house. Craighead House Acquired

Craighead House Committee closed on the property, including the mortgage, on September 27, 2012. In the photo below, Attorney Tony DeLuca and Honorary Chairman David Masland inspect the deed. Flanking them are President Johnson Coyle and Secretary/Treasurer Ann Benjey. Looking on from left to right are Perry Heath, June Shomaker, Judi Shunk, and Rusty Shunk. Now, the real work begins.
